We are also seeing lots of new issues and requests. This is on our website for fellowships:
The Association permits delayed start requests for up to six months. This includes applicants with clinical appointments.
For other programs, but not on our website:
We do give a non-publicized 3-month grace period for visa and faculty appointments, but do not change the award start date because these are eligibility requirements.
Also, starting with our next round of applications, we now require that applicants have an acceptable visa staff at the time of application, whereas it used to be the
