The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Foundation is now accepting applications for the Young Investigators Research Forum (YIRF) 2027. This program is designed to aid the career development of promising early career investigators in circadian and sleep research by providing opportunities to network with senior sleep investigators, exposure to funding agencies and sleep funding mechanisms, and guidance to thrive in an academic sleep research career. The forum includes didactic presentations, panel discussions, a mock grant review, and a specific aims workshop. As active participants, attendees will present their research, provide feedback on each other’s proposals, and serve as reviewers in a mock study section.
YIRF 2027 will consist of a virtual kick-off meeting in March 2027 and an in-person meeting on April 11-13, 2027 in Chicago, IL. Selected trainees will be provided with a travel scholarship that includes travel and lodging for the in-person meeting, funded by the AASM Foundation. Applications are due October 19, 2026 and selected trainees will be notified no later than January 15, 2027.
