- Impact Awards – Opens August 17th / LOIs Due October 15th
The Parkinson’s Foundation Impact Awards support innovative projects from their inception, providing the necessary resources to maximize their impact on the Parkinson’s community. The science underlying the Parkinson’s Foundation Impact Award projects should be “outside the box” with the goal of bringing new light to the biology of Parkinson’s disease (PD), a new approach to PD research, or testing a truly novel therapeutic idea. Projects should be based on groundbreaking or unconventional ideas that are unlikely to be funded through more traditional funding mechanisms. Both established researchers and newcomers to PD research are encouraged to apply.
- Stanley Fahn Junior Faculty Award – Opens August 10th / LOIs Due October 8th
The Stanley Fahn Junior Faculty Award provides funding for promising early-career faculty members, averting research talent loss and ensuring young scientists stay committed to Parkinson’s disease research. In conjunction with their institution’s commitment, the award gives junior investigators the bridge support needed to secure their independent funding source (such as an NIH R01) in the PD field, with the overarching goal of fostering a career-long independent research leader in PD. The Parkinson’s Foundation seeks clinical, pre-clinical, or basic research proposals from promising early-career faculty members that will directly impact the understanding or treatment of PD. Successful projects should include novel PD research hypotheses and be inventive in methodology or approach.
- Postdoctoral Fellowships – Opens August 10th / LOIs Due October 1st
The Parkinson’s Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships are two-year fellowships for scientists fresh from their PhD training or neurology residence. We seek research proposals from promising early career scientists that will directly impact the understanding of Parkinson’s disease or its treatment. Applicants must name an individual who will serve as their research mentor and supervisor.

- Melvin Yahr Parkinson’s Disease Clinical Research Award – Opens September 14th / Applications Due January 11th
The Melvin Yahr Parkinson’s Disease Clinical Research Award is jointly supported by the Parkinson’s Foundation and the International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders (IAPRD). This award is designed to foster clinical research into any aspect of Parkinson’s disease conducted by young investigators. By recognizing and honoring the exceptional contributions of young talented individuals, the award seeks to serve as a catalyst for their continued growth and leadership in the field. By empowering young clinicians, it is expected that this initiative will spur innovation and promote the translation of cutting-edge scientific discoveries into efficient and practical health measures that will benefit people with Parkinson’s disease.
