Community Description
The book club last read ‘The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women‘ by Kate Moore. The book presents the stories of women who worked in radium-dial factories, the ‘mysterious illnesses’ that they sustained due to their exposure to toxic radium, and the legal challenges they endured that resulted in improved regulation of working conditions. Thanks to everyone who participated in the lively discussion!
