Hi everyone,
It was great to see you at the members meeting last week!
We discussed a survey focused on effects of DOGE cuts on early career researchers. We need this data to understand the present and future consequences of DOGE cuts, both for planning from HRA members as well as advocacy. I hope to include many HRA members in writing up the major results, and of course sharing aggregate findings with you.
Please circulate this to your grantees, especially those from undergraduate to tenure track positions. HERE is a graphic and the list of questions FYI. While ASF an Broad have developed it, it is not focused on autism. We hope to gather input across different fields of biomedical research.
Thanks!
Alycia

Recent funding cuts have affected all levels of science, but as we learned from the effects of the pandemic, early–career researchers are likely to be the most vulnerable. In addition to job insecurity and loss of support for scientific research, these cuts have the potential to affect longer-term career plans, trajectories, plans, potential breakthroughs, not to mention effects on mental health. ASF and the Broad Institute are collecting data to demonstrate the effects of these cuts. If you’re an early–career researcher, we want to hear from you. Please take this survey and help us advocate for restored funding and support. Click here: https://redcap.partners.org/redcap/surveys/?s=TDLHE3PTT3R87FX8
